Christo and Jeanne-Claude (Cree-sto and jhawn-clawed)
Jeanne-Claude says ssalamū 'lekum! And I say Zedraveyte! In our native languages of Moroccan and Bulgarian!! I, Christo was born in Bulgaria. While my lovely wife was born in Morocco. She was the light of my life. My true love, my everything and the tragic day my love died was November, 9th, 2009. She suffered from a brain aneurism.
We met in Paris. Jeanne-Claude actually thought I was gay! As she put it "He is so skinny," she said to her mother, "and he's got long thin hands – and he paints.". Thank goodness she didn't think that for long because she walked out on her previous three week long marriage for me. We had a child in 1960. We named our handsome baby boy Cyril Cristo.
The materials we used to make our one of a kind art are nature, pretending buildings and rescuable materials. The subject of our art is the location itself in most of our artworks which gives a greater significance and impact to its subject matter.
Interesting facts about us-
Both I and my wife were born in the same day. June 13, 1935
We always flew in separate planes in case one crashed the other could continue the work.
It took 24 years to get permission to wrap the Reichstag in Berlin
The picture below is some of our friends.
