Michelangelo Buonarroti
Saluti , il mio nome è Michelangelo Buonarroti. Some may say I am widely regarded as the most famous artist of the Italian Renaissance. Among my works are the "David" and "Pieta" statues and the Sistine Chapel frescoes. I was born on March 6, 1475, in Caprese, Italy. I became an apprentice to a painter before studying in the sculpture gardens of the powerful Medici family. Some would consider I had a remarkable career as an artist in the Italian Renaissance.

Other Artists During this Time
About my art:
Renaissance
During the Italian Renaissance, art was everywhere. The cultural
rebirth that occurred in Europe from roughly the fourteenth through
the middle of the seventeenth centuries, based on the rediscovery of
the literature of Greece and Rome. Renaissance artists studied
perspective, or the differences in the way things look when they are
close to something or far away. The artists painted in a way that
showed these differences. As a result, their paintings seem to have
depth.
