William Eggleston
Personal Profile:
I am William Eggleston. I was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1939. I amused myself by building electronic gadgets, bugging and recording family conversations, and teaching myself how to play piano. I studied art for about six years at various colleges, but I never actually graduated. So I continue to take photograph's till this day. I want to choose to send my legacy on to other on going photographer's.

About my art:
I was 18, when I received my first camera, a Canon Rangefinder. My first photograph was in black and white, because at the time the film was cheap and readily available. While at colleges I was introduced to photojournalism, and was very inspired by Robert Frank's photo book "The Americans." Even though I was the first artist to take dye transfer printing out of advertising and use it to create art.
